Scholarship Opportunities 

2023 - 2024 School Year

There are several scholarships available to graduating RTC students. Scholarships can help pay for college or postsecondary career school and don't have to be repaid.

James "Jim" Bailey Scholarship

​ In memory of Jim Bailey, this scholarship was established to provide assistance to students of West Virginia who attend post secondary vocational and technical programs.

The Albert Yanni Scholarship

The Albert Yanni Scholarship provides high quality career and technical education (CTE) students an opportunity to pursue advanced education and/or training related to their career aspirations. A one-time scholarship of $2,000.00 will be awarded to students selected by a committee of West Virginia Department of Education (WVDE) personnel.

Note: Deadline to apply is April 15, 2024.

Horatio Alger Scholarships

Various Scholarship Programs are available to students and are funded through the generosity of Horatio Alger Association Members, Dennis R. Washington and Jim F. Dicke II.  Scholarships are available for both Junior and Senior students. Visit the website for more information.

Mark Hutchison / David Cosner Scholarship Fund

To honor the memory of Mark Hutchison and David Cosner by providing a scholarship to a senior from Randolph Technical Center who demonstrates the qualities valued by the Marines and the Navy: respect, discipline, honor, responsibility, commitment, and service to others.

DHS Foundation Scholarship

​Inspired by Dr. Mason Todd Corder’s care for his patients and passion for helping others enter the medical field, the DHS Foundation Scholarship recognizes and supports students who are continuing their studies in a healthcare-related field.

Robert E. Evans Scholarship

Robert E. Evans began his career with Peoples in 1970 as a trust officer. In 1980 he became the first president and chief executive officer of Peoples Bancorp, Inc., and in 1987 became the sixth president of Peoples Bank.  The Robert E. Evans Education Fund was created by The Peoples Bank to honor his memory in grateful appreciation for his dedication to persistence, determination, and his belief in the power of learning.

William A. Keller Scholarship Fund

Through the generosity of William A. Keller, scholarship opportunities are available for students of current Robertson Heating Supply employees who were also employed by Valley Supply Company. Citizens Bank of West Virginia serves as Trustee of the William A. Keller Scholarship Fund and will annually grant scholarships in accordance to the scholarship trust guidelines.

WV PTA Scholarship

​West Virginia PTA is proud to offer scholarships to graduating seniors from West Virginia’s public high schools. Each year, the organization's goal is to award several $500 scholarships to qualified graduating seniors for their higher education expenses.

BBB Life Lessons Essay Contest

The Life Lessons essay contest is a theme-based essay competition for high school seniors. It is designed to challenge young people to discover through reflection and writing how ethics plays an important role in their lives and how applying such principles can impact themselves and others.

American Water Inclusion and Diversity Scholarship

​American Water is the largest U.S. regulated water utility since 1886. The company offers a $10,000 Inclusion and Diversity Scholarship in its operating states aiming to support underrepresented groups in the utility industry and promote inclusion and diversity. This scholarship program is managed by Scholarship America®, which oversees eligibility and application evaluation.

Note: The deadline to apply is midnight, on Wednesday, January 31, 2024

John & Mildred Peluso Scholarship

The WVU John and Mildred Peluso Italian American Scholarship is a $1,000 scholarship available to West Virginia University students (Morgantown campus), with Italian heritage, who demonstrate scholastic merit and pride in their heritage. This scholarship was established by Dr. Carolyn Peluso Atkins in honor of her parents, John and Mildred Peluso.
